An introduction to the erstwhile ruling family belonging to the ancient state of Patan in Rajasthan. Rao Digvijay Singh Patan & family now residing in Jaipur have opened their house "Madhuban" to tourists who would like to enjoy traditional Rajput hospitality. About 70 miles northeast of Jaipur lies the home of the head of the Tanwar Rajputs. The rulers of Patan belong to the Lunar clan and are descendants of King Parikshit, the grandson of the great Pandava Arjun, renowned in the epic, Mahabharata. Emperor Anangpal II who ruled North India from the throne of Delhi some 900 years ago was ousted by Prithviraj Chauhan. He later established an independent kingdom comprising of some 380 villages as Tanwarawati which is around 3000sq kms in area, with it's capital at Patan.
