Nawalgarh
Nawalgarh is in the heart of the Shekhawati region which comprises the cities/villages of Mandawa, Dundlod, Fatehpur, Mukundgarh, Mehansar and Laxmangarh. The Shekhawati region is very famous for the beautiful ‘Havelis’ of the traders and merchants which are beautifully painted from outside as well as from inside. The Havelis are now abandoned by the owners who have left for the cities for better pastures while a caretaker takes care of these beautiful monuments. You will be taken to see the different painted Havelis of the region and in particular to Mandawa, Dundlod, Fatehpur and Ofcourse Nawalgarh.

Home Stay at Nawalgarh

The whole region id scattered with these Havelis and these are the important ones. All the owners who have abandoned are rich businessmen and they plough back enough money to look after their Havelis. There is a lovely Haveli in Nawalgarh which is housing a school now and so is very well preserved.

Your abode in Nawalgarh at the Roop Niwas Palace belongs to the descendants of Thakur Roop Singhji who built it in 1880s. His family head Bhanwar Devendra Singh now allows guests to come, stay and enjoy his hospitality. He also arranges Horse Safaris for guests. He and his cousin Drupad Singh look after the comforts of the guests. A single day covers all the sightseeing of the Havelis in the region and therefore a night’s stay is sufficient unless one wants to spend time in leisure or wants to do a Horse Safari.
